Payments can be accepted in:

Pounds Sterling (GBP), US $ (USD), Euros (EUR), Swiss Francs (CHF) and Japanese Yen (JPY) 

Your payment will be handled via Paypal.

CKP Railways plc will not have access to your account details. 


 ANY LARGE DONATIONS (OVER £1,000)

will be considered as contributions to reconstruction costs and will be kept in a separate account. 

These will be given as a separat total on this websiteand in Updates.

Use of any funds received this way will be discussed with the Lake District National Park Authority. 


 

Examples of running costs for this Project :
 
 

£10 costs of preparing for and attending a local meeting

£ 25 costs of attending a meeting outside the local area

£ 50 costs of preparing a briefing document for Local Authorities or other stakeholders

£100 cost of a mailshot to Politicians / Government Departments and Agencies

£ 250 accounting  charges, banking and related costs for one month

£ 500 preparing information, meetings and correspondence to oppose a planning application

£ 1000 printing and posting an update to include authorities, politicians, rail industry and media


The Directors take no salary or expense payments from CKP Railways plc.
 
 

Examples of construction and repair costs for the Railway:

Fencing £ 15 per metre (legal requirement)

Excavation £ 25 per cubic metre

Overbridge repairs £ 3,000 to £ 16,000 (some need no work)

Embankment repairs £ 30,000 to £ 250, 000 per location

Little Tunnel repairs £ 45,000 

Underbridge repairs £ 100,000 to £ 250,000 (some need no work)

Big Tunnel repairs £ 250,000

Intermediate stations £ 400,000 to £ 1 million each 

Track materials and ballast £ 1.3 million per mile  

Keswick station new platforms etc £ 2.2 million

Bridge under A66 at Threlkeld £ 3.5 million

Bridge over A66 at Beckses £ 7 million
